Full Service Custom Frame Shop in Boise, Idaho

I am a full service custom frame shop specializing in conservation framing techniques and use only the highest quality materials. I feature over a thousand molding options and equally impressive array of mat and glass choices. Don’t be overwhelmed I walk you through the whole design experience and give you expert advice so you feel confident in your choice.

Mounting

The standard way to mount a piece is dry mounting or cold press, which is a permanent and can remove most wrinkles and some creases, recommended for posters and photos that are not valuable. For your more expensive art we recommend conservation mounting using all acid free materials and hinging tape or acetate corner pockets so they can easily be removed if you are selling later. For specialty items such as jerseys we attach-eze or sew. Artifacts might be silicone or sewed. All needle work is hand stitched over acid free foam. And oils and needlepoint will be stretched over wood stretcher bars. Gallery wraps can also be done.

Glazing

Glazing protects your art work from airborne acidic particles, slows down humidity transfer, and prevents the occasional touching or brushing of the art surface and most importantly, it can protect against light damage. Depending on your piece and how much sun or light your room gets there are many types of glazing.

MATTING

Matting a piece provides three benefits:

  1. It insures the art work does not touch the glass spacing the glass from the art to prevent any damage caused from fluctuations in condensation that may make the art stick to the glass.
  2. It gives depth and volume to your art by accenting colors and increasing overall size of art making it your masterpiece.
  3. Conservation or acid free matting increases the life and enjoyment of your art.

FINISHING

Every piece of art is finished with a dust cover and a proper hanging system. I also included the hook for your wall. All work done in store.

INTEGRATED FRAMER

Integrated framer allows you to see finished frame design before the work begins. You feel more comfortable in what you have chosen when you can see it finished.
